Youth Ministry

First Presbyterian youth ministry builds upon our faith and our commitment to Christ. Christ calls us to love and serve God and one another. This is the guiding principle for our youth ministry – in all things, we need to love God and to serve our others.

SUMMER 2016

2016 Presbyterian Youth Triennium

Every 3 years Presbyterian high school youth gather for the Presbyterian Youth Triennium at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.  The theme for 2016 is GO! INTO THE WORLD AND MAKE DISCIPLES.  Dates are July 19-23, 2016. Triennium is a life giving, life changing, faith moving experience! As the world changes, society shifts – and the church expands – the need for vibrant young Presbyterians grows. Help our young people GO to the next great place in their faith!Click HERE for more details and watch the newsletter & Facebook page for information.

PARENTS/ADULTS: If you would like to help coordinate/plan for our youth to attend Triennium, please contact the church office.

Summer Mission Trip – June 6-10, Lima

Each June or July, the youth spend a week in mission, serving a community both physically and relationally, as well as experiencing culture and communities that are different than our own. These trips allow students to grow in their relationship with the group, but also deepen their relationship with God and their understanding of God’s call on their lives. FPC youth experience a different type trip each year in rotation: local, national (rural and urban), and international. In 2016 we are planning a local mission trip.  Will assist in planning and running VBS Bible on the Go Day Camp at Market Street Presbyterian Church in Lima, June 6-10. This will be an all day event with Bible School in the morning 8:30 am – noon; lunch; then 1-4: field trips each day.  Youth help is needed.  Please contact Pastor Cynthia if you can help! Mission trip participants will enjoy a trip to Cedar Point on June 11!

Summer Gatherings

In addition to the summer trips, the youth gather regularly throughout the summer for fellowship and growth. Trips range from Cedar Point, outings to local restaurants, to faith discussions on finding God in particular movies. Watch the here, the newsletter, and Facebook for information.
